I always heard it as "rice burner" back in high school (~2004) to refer to imports, generally those who were heavily influenced by F&F. But then also "race inspired cosmetic enhancements" gained ground for being the start of it, probably just so they could include the domestics getting in on the F&F bandwagon.

Either way it's a sorta crappy way to refer to a car...

Hellaflush and ONI camber ruin cars, 100%. A performance oriented camber can look great, hellaflush always looks bad. You may like the look, but people bought old Kia Accents too, just because people like a thing doesn't meant it's good.

Excessive is the point. For example this Celica:

The owner built it as a joke. It has duct tape fenders and wasn't serious about it.

He got so much attention and people liked it, it was so over the top.

He found this funny so he had it built seriously, custom bodykit and all.

Okay.

The owner had a really cool idea about a Corvette with a cool dragon . He thought '' I can do it myself, it's not so hard right?'' It may not be the cool detailed dragon and nice paintjob he hoped for, but this was his choice and I think he is proud of his own work.

That said, it doesn't look all that great.

I'm sorry, but I agree with sir_stig.

Most custom work deserves respect, even if it's not to your taste, but in this case, they have turned a car into a not-car. If your mods make your vehicle unable to be operated in anything resembling a safe manner, then you've ruined it.

I feel the same way about pickups rocking 14" lifts, sporty cars lowered until they can't clear basic road obstructions and Prii.
